Merseyside Law Centre Vacancy: Specialist Welfare Benefit Adviser

Salary: £22,500 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Until 31 March 2018; renewed subject to available funding

Merseyside Law Centre (MLC) is funded by Liverpool City Council to provide free welfare benefits advice and representation to the people of Liverpool. The organisation strives for a just and equal society where everyone has access to justice.

The post-holder will carry out a range of duties including providing a comprehensive welfare benefits advice service, managing a caseload, tribunal representation, and training, supporting and supervising volunteers and students.

Suitable candidates will have extensive experience of providing welfare benefit advice and representation. MLC has a welfare benefits contract with the Legal Aid Agency and to meet the requirements of this, candidates must meet the welfare benefits supervisor standard.

The posts will be based at Merseyside Law Centre’s head office in Liverpool.
