Contract: Fixed Term Funded to 31 January 2024 (With the Potential to be Extended to 31 January 2026).
Term: Full-time.
Salary: £23,469 – £26,769 p.a. – MYA Grade 5 Pt. 17-20.
Hours per week: 35 hours.
Reporting to: Line Manager.
Location: Knowsley.
Merseyside Youth Association Ltd (MYA) requires an experienced, committed, and innovative Health Worker who brings creativity, and energy to the improvement of health outcomes for young people in Knowsley via the delivery of health education programmes utilising group work methods and one-to-one support. The successful candidate will be able to co-design, deliver and evaluate bespoke sessions, resources and programmes which are developmental, inclusive and fun.
The postholder will work within the THinK Team, taking a public health approach to developing young people’s awareness of healthy lifestyles, enhancing their skills, and encouraging them to make informed and empowered choices about their health. This role will include the design, delivery and evaluation of a health “curriculum” framework which includes:
- Emotional Health/Wellbeing
- Healthy Lifestyles (nutrition, physical activity, weight, living environment, smoking cessation)
- Sexual Health/Relationships (including Under 18 conceptions and Chlamydia rates)
- Substance Awareness – Alcohol, drugs & tobacco.
The post holder must hold relevant qualification to at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related subject.
