Fancy taking on the world’s biggest half marathon but missed out on this year’s ballot? It’s not too late. The British Red Cross still have some places available to join #TeamRedCross at this year’s, AJ Bell Great North Run on Sunday 10 September 2023.
This world-class, famous half marathon brings together people from across the country and is a real celebration of Newcastle. The 13.1-mile route takes you through Newcastle city centre, across the iconic Tyne Bridge to reach the finish line in South Shields where you can enjoy stunning sea views and refreshments and a massive well done in the Red Cross tent! With 60,000 runners taking part and joyous crowds lining the streets along the way, it truly is a day to remember.

“All #TeamRedCross runners will be raising vital funds to help support people in crisis both here in the UK and around the world. Whether it be helping deliver food parcels and medicine overseas following a natural disaster, providing shelter after a house fire or being a friendly voice on the phone for someone experiencing loneliness.
Whatever the need, YOUR fundraising will allow the Red Cross to be there as the world’s emergency responders.”

- 1-2-1 fundraising support to help you smash your sponsorship target

- Huge cheers and support from their Events Team on event day.
