Location: Based out of Mossley Hill Church with some home working.

Mossley Hill Church is a warm, welcoming and busy church set in the heart of a family friendly residential suburb in the south of the city. They actively offer and support different traditions in their services with three services each Sunday, a quiet & contemplative Holy Communion at 8.30 AM, a lively contemporary style family service at 9.30 AM and a more traditional service of Holy Communion or Morning prayer at 11 AM. Their combined congregation on a Sunday is in the region of 225 adults and over 100 children. They also have other members of their community who receive Holy Communion and pastoral care at home.
Job Summary
They are looking for a caring and committed person who can be a part of their church team. The main duties of the role will be to recruit and manage a team of volunteers for pastoral visiting teams. To oversee the prayer ministry team and manage their prayer spaces in church. To offer a listening ear for church members who want to talk to someone. To lead the monthly pastoral meeting of the clergy. To have an active role in the planning and delivery of services such as Blue Christmas and Love & Loss. To look at further developments for pastoral ministry. The role will be 20 hours a week with flexibility, although there will be a need to attend the fortnightly pastoral meeting with clergy and to attend on Sunday mornings to support parishioners.
Due to the nature and context of this role, and as Mossley Hill Church is a faith-based organisation, there is an occupational requirement for the role holder to be a Christian, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1 S.3
