Reporting to: Rachel Archer, Rector of St Matthew and St James (known as Mossley Hill Church).
Location: Based out of Mossley Hill Church and working in three local high schools.

Mossley Hill Church is a busy, warm, welcoming and growing church. They actively offer and support different traditions in their services, they regularly welcome 300 people into their church every Sunday, and many others use their facilities during the week.

The worship tradition is a variety from traditional organ and choir to contemporary music group. They have several very gifted and able musicians helping to grow this area of their ministry. They see this as a likely area to further involve their young people.

They are journeying towards signing up to become an Inclusive Church. They are also actively taking steps towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions, and advancing their Eco Church credentials. They have a multi-functional church space and superb Hilltop Centre facility for both church and community use. Their Youth Work is one of these missional priorities which the successful applicant will help develop.

Job Summary

The successful applicant will oversee Mossley Hill Church Youth work, and connect with young people both through community activities in and around the parish and also through the Liverpool Next Generation (LNG) Youth and Schools project.

The role will be 2 days a week in three local high schools working with a well-established team and 3 days a week including Sundays, overseeing the youth program at Mossley Hill Church.

This role seeks to grow the emerging youth ministry, helping young people find their home in church community.
