MyClubmoor – Community Engagement Officer

Salary Scale – £11 per hour (£20,020 pro rata).
Hours – Minimum of 30 hours per week, on a flexible basis including some weekend work (more hours may be considered).
Accountable to: Director of Finance & Resources.
Main working contacts: Policy Partnership and Programme Lead. Voluntary and community groups including members of the public. Members of LCVS and associated networks and LCVS staff. Representatives of funding boards/panels & networks.

MyClubmoor is looking for an engaging, confident and excellent communicator, with the skill and ability to engage and empower people of all ages with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences. A creative, dynamic and organised person, passionate about working to help raise the aspirations for people in the ward of Clubmoor. Someone who is a strong relationship builder and most importantly someone that lives in Clubmoor.

The main role and responsibilities of this post will be to manage projects in the centre and outreach projects across the ward. This role may also include managing small funding pots, submitting bids, and completing monitoring/reports that come with these bids helping to meet the aims and objectives of Myclubmoor. Please note this list is not exhaustive and we will continue to review this as the dynamics of the organisation changes.

Purpose & Objectives:

To develop and deliver the MyClubmoor plan by listening and engaging with local residents and community organisations, feeding back to the board, and creating activities and priorities for the local area. Representing MyClubmoor and being a point of contact in the community.

Specific Objectives include:

  • Engaging local residents to be involved with MyClubmoor
  • Support the partnership board in community engagement
  • Develop a plan for engagement activities & monitor progress against this plan
  • Create and develop a network of contacts that they will continue to update. This will enable them to inform and be informed.

Specific Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  1. To find innovative ways that include those ‘harder to reach’ in the community so that they can participate in and influence the development of MyClubmoor activities and annual plan
  2.  To ensure that the community engagement activities support the objectives of MyClubmoor contributing to the principle and objectives of the Big Local Trust project.

Role Profile:

  • To work with partner organisations, including existing community groups, Torus, Cobalt, local schools in the Clubmoor area, community services (police, fire department, etc.), and Liverpool City Council, to join in engagement activities
  • To promote engagement through formal and informal methods by organising events and activities; providing publicity, consultation, presentations, and marketing, via social media, posters, and direct contact – taking on the role of lead organiser for specific events as designated by the MyC Partnership Board
  • To set a standard of following ‘best practice’ and continue to monitor performance and training for community engagement and to continue to review engagement methods
  • Ensure that the community engagement activities meet equality and diversity requirements and reflect the wider community
  • To represent MyC at public meetings, ensuring MyC has effective liaison opportunities with external bodies – including evening meetings and occasional weekend work
  • To update a central database of publicity, promotions, consultations, surveys, methods, meeting minutes, training, and formal contact with outside agencies
  • To provide evidence and feedback on the MyC social media and continue to review regularly
  • To undertake training, including through Big Local Trust, to ensure best practices in community engagement
  • To manage budgets delegated by the MyC board ensuring compliance with MyC policies, and retaining evidence of expenditure.
  • To effectively and efficiently use MyC IT systems, specifically Microsoft Office 365
  • To carry out such other duties and responsibilities as are consistent with the role.
