Natural Breaks’ Have Your Say Group have been nominated for ‘The People’s Award’ at the 2024 Learning Disability & Autism Awards

Liverpool-based charity Natural Breaks are celebrating the news of their ‘Have Your Say Group’ being shortlisted as finalists at the 2024 Learning Disability & Autism Awards.

At the beginning of May 2024, Natural Breaks received the news about their shortlisting success. The recognition of their ‘Have Your Say Group’ is a testament to the charity’s commitment to support disabled adults to lead independent lives and have their voices heard.

Diane, CEO at Natural Breaks says:

“We could not be more delighted for our Have Your Say Group. They are integral to our organisation as a whole. Every attendee speaks on behalf of every person we support and voices any concern or suggestion.

With the Have Your Say Group, Natural Breaks are able to ensure that everything our organisation does lines up with the needs, wants and preferences of those we support

I could not be more pleased that our Have Your Say Group are being recognised for all their work and effort. Over the last 32 years, Natural Breaks have achieved so much and I could not be more proud. However, we will continue to learn, grow, provide the highest quality person centred support and enable people to have ordinary lives – just like you and me”.

Natural Breaks’ Have Your Say Group occur every two months and provide a platform for people they support to discuss the organisation as a whole alongside their support, recruitment, training, activities and co-production.

The ‘Have Your Say’ group enables people Natural Breaks support to voice their opinions, concerns, thoughts and ideas in a safe, supportive environment.

Jackie, who draws on support from Natural Breaks and is a member of the Have Your Say Group says:

“I think the ‘Have Your Say’ is really important and such a great thing for people to be given the chance to talk about things they like or don’t like.

I am so proud that we have been nominated for this award. It shows all of our hard work has paid off.

I really do love Natural Breaks. They help people live their lives and find their voice. I really hope we win on the night but even if we don’t, we’ll definitely have a party in Birmingham”.

The Learning Disability & Autism Awards 2024 ceremony will take place on 21 June 2024 in Birmingham.
