Almost 9 in 10 of us have benefitted from the work of a charity, according to the latest Social Landscape Report compiled by The Charities Aid Foundation and ACEVO – highlighting just what an essential role charities, as well as other not-for-profit organisations, play in our communities.
This is just one of many reasons that a further £1m of community funding will be made available to not-for-profit organisations in England and Wales through the Skills & Opportunities Fund.
Applications for R2 2017 are now open from and not-for-profit organisations, including community groups, social enterprises and state-funded schools and colleges with eligible projects are invited to apply for grants of up to £35k.
The projects that we fund focus on helping people in some of the most disadvantaged communities in England and Wales to access the skills and opportunities they need to build their financial capability or to start or develop a new business.
If you are interested in applying this time round or know an organisation that might be, full details are available online. Remember to check the eligibility criteria and application guidelines before applying, as well as the relevant Regional Priorities, which applications will be reviewed against at the judging stage.
With almost 90% of us likely to benefit from the assistance of a charity at some point in our lives, and 100% from building stronger communities, make sure to spread the word among both your local and virtual communities.
