Description:

Open Eye Gallery are looking for a team of volunteers to help deliver LOOK Photo Biennial 2019. Focusing on exchange with China, the festival uses the evolving language of photography to unlock international dialogue. The programme sets out to reflect on shifting global identities, worldwide environmental issues and how we can use images to communicate effectively: across borders, technologies and cultures.

Volunteers will play a key role in the day to day running of the exhibition spaces, creating a welcoming and friendly environment. Duties will include greeting and directing visitors around the exhibitions, helping visitors to engage with the exhibition by providing information on the artworks, and invigilating the gallery spaces. We are looking for exhibition assistants for venues across the city region including; St George’s Hall and CBS Gallery in Liverpool, along with Dark Side Art Lab Birkenhead.

In return for your time you’ll gain work experience, as well as the chance to develop your skills and improve your career prospects through networking, while gaining a valuable insight into a photography biennial, working with a great team of like-minded people. Open Eye Gallery will also be hosting a volunteer exhibition in December showcasing work through our digital window gallery in Mann Island’s Atrium.
