People First Merseyside – Advocacy Liaison Officer

Hours: 21 per week (Part Time)
Salary:£22,401 pro rata (£13,442 per annum)
Location: Bootle, L20 3EF

People First Merseyside is a user led self-advocacy organisation for adults with a learning disability. Our mission is to ensure that the voices of people with a learning disability are heard, respected and valued and that as a result people are able to live happier and healthier lives.

We have an exciting opportunity funded by The Steve Morgan Foundation to recruit an Advocacy Liaison Officer. This is a unique 3-year post that will be responsible for providing one to one issue based advocacy support to people with a learning disabilities across Merseyside, (with a focus on Liverpool and Sefton). The post holder will act as a liaison between individuals and relevant agencies, including support and advice services. In addition, the post holder will develop easy read accessible resources for the benefit of people with learning disabilities as well as disability awareness training for relevant services.

The post holder will be responsible for day to day project delivery with main responsibilities including: administration and monitoring, project report collation, case study development and case management.
