PSS – Head of Learning & Development

Contract: Permanent.
Term: Part-time.
Salary: £42k pro rata.
Hours per week: 22.5 hours.
Location: Eleanor Rathbone House, 24 Derby Road, Liverpool, L5 9PR.

PSS is a social enterprise that supports people to live happy, healthy and hopeful lives, whether they’re:

  • adults who have learning or physical disabilities, challenges with their mental health or difficulties as they’re getting older;
  • people in and around the criminal justice system; or
  • families who’ve been through unsteady times.

No matter who you are or where your life has taken you, PSS will listen, understand and find a way to help you reach your goals.

PSS was founded in 1919 by Eleanor Rathbone, a lady famous for tackling social injustices and over the last century, PSS founded Age UK, Riverside Housing and Legal aid and were there at the very start of the Citizens’ Advice Bureau. Today PSS offers 11 different services to help people get the most from their life, from health and wellbeing to social care services. PSS operates across England and Wales but their story began in Liverpool and this is where their head office calls home.

Job Description

As a social care charity, when you give people the chance to be brilliant and develop, it directly impacts the people they support, who benefit from having super-skilled people around them. Not only does having brilliant, knowledgeable people keep them compliant, but it means they’re able to provide people with the top-notch support they’re known for.

Along with your (superb) teammates David, Lauren and Saul who you’ll have the pleasure of managing, you’ll be the face of learning and development at PSS, so you’ll need a spring in your step, loads of creative spark and an infectious love for helping people progress; in their roles, their careers and as people.
