Would you like to support a vital charity while also developing your strategic leadership and governance skills? Relate Cheshire & Merseyside (incorporating Relate Greater Manchester) is seeking to appoint a new Trustee to its Board who will assume the role of Treasurer in late 2022.
Relationships with family, partners, friends and colleagues play a big part in how happy we are, and when our relationships aren’t healthy, we suffer. That’s why Relate is here to provide relationship support – for everyone. They develop and support healthy relationships particularly by helping couples, families and individuals to make their relationships work better.
The impact of the pandemic means that their support is more needed than ever, and they have worked hard to adapt to the changing circumstances. They are currently working entirely remotely and delivering counselling online to couples, families and young people across Cheshire, Merseyside & Greater Manchester. Part of the national federation of Relate, they are a local charity with a turnover of around £450,000 and around 30 employees. The Board meets 4 times a year, with optional monthly informal catch-up meetings inbetween, all of which are held online in the late afternoon / early evening. Prior to each Board meeting the Treasurer has a pre meet with the CEO and Finance Officer and is available for advice in between Board meetings.
They are seeking a committed and capable person to help lead the charity into its next phase of development. The role of Treasurer is a pivotal one leading on the financial health of the charity.
