Roots of Empathy is coming to Liverpool

Roots of Empathy is an award-winning charitable organisation, that delivers an evidence-based programme that has shown significant effect in reducing levels of aggression, including bullying, among primary school children while raising social and emotional competence and increasing empathy. They have reached over one million children globally with their school-based programmes, they are now coming to various primary schools in Liverpool.

What do they do?

  • They offer empathy-based programmes in schools and childcare centres
  • They train volunteer instructors to deliver an age-appropriate curriculum
  • They invite community families into classrooms to demonstrate the power of a secure attachment relationship between infant and parent – the first and most powerful model of empathy
  • They measure impact, conduct research, and share results.

This is what a Northern Ireland Instructor had to say about this unique programme:

“Roots of Empathy is a superb programme both in its simplicity of delivery and the very profound and positive impact that it has on all participants… A caring, compassionate, inclusive and truly civilised society can exist but only if the foundations for this starts in our classrooms.”

They are now seeking volunteers to join them as instructors. You can learn more about that here.
