Salary: £26.500.
Hours per week: 37.5 hours from Monday to Friday.
Reporting to: Education Programme Manager.
Location: Rotunda Ltd, Great Mersey Street, Liverpool.

Overall Purpose of Post

To plan and deliver high quality adult educational programmes in a growing and dynamic teaching and learning environment. Their courses aim to progress people into employment and further education. They are comprised of functional skills and a wide range of sector based vocational areas.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Design a structured teaching programme for each course, in agreement with the Education Programme Manager, that reflects the subject and level and that will match the needs of learners using appropriate Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans and relevant teaching materials.
2. Deliver educational programmes to remote and face to face learners.
3. Use appropriate teaching methods to promote cultural diversity, assess each learner’s prior knowledge and skills, establish their learning needs at the start of the course, monitor their progress session by session (using RARPA) and, together with individual learners, evaluate achievement at course end.
4. Develop learners’ confidence and self-esteem. Ensure that each learner’s contribution is recognised and valued and create a climate conducive to the learning needs of adults.
5. Provide learners with information and advice to ensure learners are aware of potential progression routes to enhance their learning.
6. Complete all relevant administrative and recording tasks related to delivery of the programme, to a high standard.
7. Report to the Educational Programme manager around learner progression.
8. Work in collaboration with classroom support and be able to manage their activities.
9. Achieve specified targets and meet deadlines.
10. Continue to develop professional skills, knowledge and expertise, attending training and development events as and when required.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Experience of teaching within adult education.
• Minimum of Level 4 Teaching qualification.
• Level 2 English and maths qualifications.
• Ability to mentor volunteer classroom support assistants.
• Be able to administrate all funding related activities ensuring all documentation is fully compliant.
• Be computer literate and able to use Microsoft packages.
• Be able to deliver online and face to face.
• To be highly personable with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to monitor learner progress and implement intervention plans with learners.
• Ability to develop and design quality differentiated resources.
• To be organised with ability to produce high quality course documentation and resources.
• Able to work with a variety of colleagues and clients from different professions and backgrounds.
