Saha – Maintenance Worker

Salary: £18,525 per annum plus benefits.
Hours per week: 37.5 hours.
Days per week: Flexible.
Reporting to: Housing Management Manager.
Location: Mildmay House, 6 Blackburne Place, Liverpool, L8 7PQ.

They are a Registered Social Landlord and across the UK, they are one of the leading providers of supported housing, providing a wide range of supported accommodation options for vulnerable people including, young homeless people, care leavers, adult homeless, people with complex needs, young parents (and their children), survivors of domestic abuse, ex-offenders and those suffering from drug and alcohol problems and poor mental health.

Their teams work with people to build on their strengths, creating person-centred, individualised strategies and plans that transform lives, support recovery and enable positive behaviour.

The Maintenance Worker will help to make sure that their residential building, furniture and equipment is kept in good condition principally through planned maintenance and day to day repairs, including cleaning, decoration and plumbing.

At Saha, they are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality housing services, support and resettlement for people who have been homeless.

The Maintenance Worker will help ensure that all internal and external aspects of the scheme, including the fabric of the building, its furnishings and equipment are clean and well maintained to a high standard and will:

  • Detail and work with a planned maintenance programme
  • Identify and act on any repairs that are required
  • Ensure the completion of repairs and maintenance activity personally or via contractors
  • Collect and deliver items locally, including repair materials and furniture.

You will instinctively work in a manner that aligns fully with saha’s delivery values and behaviours, demonstrating energy and passion, along with a positive, can-do attitude in your daily contribution as a Maintenance Worker to transforming lives.

You will be confident and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. They need you to be able to:

  • Have empathy with their client group
  • Successfully complete a variety of low-level repair and maintenance activities both internally and externally
  • Safely use equipment that is supplied for repairs
  • Have good diagnostic skills
  • Manage a varied workload and show good time management skills.
