Sahir House – LGBTQ+ Community Engagement Worker

Salary: Circa £26,000 (+3% Employer Pension Contribution).
Hours per week: 35 hours.
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer.
Location: Hybrid (Liverpool office/home working).

Since their formation, the needs of people living with HIV has been core to their purpose.

They’re a bold and empowered community of LGBTQ+ people and allies engaged in creating a brighter shared future. They are there for people when they need them most. They do this through their 1:1 support services, their counselling, their peer support groups, their online community, their community engagement and outreach programmes, their partnerships, and more.

Job Description

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and community-minded person to continue to develop their skills within their evolving regional charity as an LGBTQ+ Community Engagement Worker. They are looking for someone with ideas and enthusiasm. Their ideal candidate will already possess a relevant qualification (such as an NVQ Level 3 or above in social work, health, education) or equivalent experience and evidence of a commitment to continuing learning and professional development.

They are looking for someone with strong people skills (working with staff, volunteers, and service users) and excellent organisational skills. You will create and coordinate a variety of groups and outreach initiatives.

This position will require work outside of standard office hours – including some evenings and weekends.
