Salary: £22,931 pro-rata (actual £13,759)
Hours: 3 fixed days per week (22.5 hours)
Contract: Part-time, fixed term of two years, starting December 2017/ January 2018
Savera UK is a Merseyside-based charity tackling domestic abuse within the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, with a focus on harmful practices that include forced marriage, honour based violence and female genital mutilation. The charity aims to meet the diverse cultural needs of the BME communities.
The post holder will work as part of Savera UK’s team, based in Liverpool, but required to work across the Merseyside and Cheshire areas. The Support Worker will work with BME individuals/families that have been referred to the service as a result of domestic abuse and provide the holistic support necessary.
Interventions will be developed in such a way as to promote culturally sensitive and appropriate support as well as promoting independence and improve self-esteem by empowering clients to identify their as yet, unmet needs.
