Savera UK Vacancy: Support Worker

NJC Scale: £22,937 (pro rata)
Hours: 22.5 per week
Contract: Fixed-term contract starting May/June 2018

Savera UK is a Merseyside-based charity tackling domestic abuse within the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, with a focus on harmful practices that include forced marriage, honour-based violence and female genital mutilation. Savera UK aims to meet the diverse cultural needs of BME communities through funding received by the Women and Girls initiative, of the National Lottery.

The post holder will work as part of Savera UK’s team, they will be Liverpool based, but will required to work across the Merseyside and Cheshire areas.

The support worker will work with BME individuals/families that have been referred to the service as a result of domestic abuse and provide the holistic support necessary.

Interventions will be developed in such a way as to promote culturally sensitive and appropriate support as well as promoting independence and improve self-esteem by empowering clients to identify their as yet unmet needs.

All sections of the community are encouraged to apply, in particular BME groups who are under-represented in the workforce.

A Disclosure & Barring Service check (DBS) will be required for this post.
