Share Your Experience | Cancer and Dementia Scoping Project

Are you living with, or supporting someone with diagnoses of cancer and dementia?

The End-of-Life Partnership (EOLP) have been commissioned by Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance to find out about the experiences of people who are living with a diagnosis of both dementia and cancer.

The aim of this work is to improve support for people who are living with these two conditions, and for those who provide care for them (this includes both family/informal carers and professionals).

They have two different opportunities available for people who are living with both diagnoses and/or informal carers who may wish to share their experiences with their team:

  • Firstly, for people who would like to tell us their story, they can set up a telephone or video call and run a short, semi-structured interview. (Themes from these interviews will be included within the project findings, but nothing will be shared that could be used to identify individuals)
  • They also have an opportunity for a person with lived experience of dual diagnosis to join the project steering group and help shape the work that the team are doing. For this role, they anticipate that meetings will take place online via MS teams, but can offer travel expenses should a volunteer prefer to meet in person.
