Term: Sessional / Part Time.
Salary: £10.78 – £11.78 per hour.
Hours per week: 24 hours.
Reporting to: Team Leader.
Location: Shrewsbury House.

Shrewsbury House is a youth and community centre in Everton. It was founded in 1903 and is known locally as The Shewsy. This year it celebrates its 120th anniversary. Its core business is working with children and young people who often live in challenging circumstances.

Job Description

The Shewsy is looking to recruit adaptable play & youth workers who can work in both Junior Club (children 4 – 11 years) and Senior Club (young people aged 11 – 17 years). Each club operates 4 nights each week under the line management of the Senior Youth Worker.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be part of the Play & Youth work team delivering planned activities on a daily basis in accordance with the staff rota
  • Play an active role in the developing / planning of activity programme content, contributing to ideas and bringing skills and enthusiasm to the club
  • Participate in Youth Club and over time develop mentoring relationships with club members to support their ability to participate fully in sessions, team and character building, and participation in off-site activities including residential visits.
