Squash Nutrition are looking for a Food Operations Manager for its new community food hub. It is a pioneering, community-led eco-building and food garden that will be home to dynamic, progressive and integrated plant-based food practice. The building has been planned and designed by local residents and is due to open in Autumn/Winter 2017/18.
The Food Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective operation and development of the community food shop, cafe and outside catering service, working with the whole Squash team and members to make it a prosperous and successful community business and exemplar neighbourhood food hub.
You must have experience of working in a food retail/catering environment; leading and motivating a small team including recruitment, training and rotas; managing departmental budgets, stock and cost control including mark-ups, accurate cashing up, ordering and pricing; generating revenue; community food work; staff and customer service; monitoring, evaluation and data collection.
