We at Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) are deeply dismayed by the recent civil unrest that has affected our city. The violence and destruction witnessed over the weekend have left a profound impact on our community, particularly with the targeting of community buildings and businesses. Being described as the worst wave of far-right violence in the UK post-war, it is clear that these actions were racially motivated, which adds an additional layer of hurt and division.
Liverpool has a rich history of diversity and solidarity, and now, more than ever, we must come together to uphold these values. LCVS stands resolutely against any form of violence, discrimination, and hate.
We know that voluntary and community sector organisations will unite in the face of these challenges. Together, we can support each other and our communities to heal and rebuild. Let us use this moment to reinforce our commitment to inclusion, understanding, and peace.
LCVS is here to offer our help and support. If your organisation has been affected or if you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
In solidarity,
LCVS
