Steve Morgan Foundation Funding Programmes

The Steve Morgan Foundation supports projects that help to make a positive impact on people’s welfare and quality of life. The charity wants to improve opportunities and life choices for children and families, young people and adults, people with physical or learning disabilities, the elderly, or those that are socially disadvantaged.

The Foundation, established in 2001 by businessman Steve Morgan CBE, is committed to help people who most need it in North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire (west of M6) and North Shropshire through the following grant programmes:

  • Regional Grants – for up to three years funding for core costs including salaries
  • Major Grants – capital and major projects for up to five years
  • Enable Grants – specialised equipment for communal use such as sensory and immersive rooms, disabled access sports and play equipment
  • Smiley Bus Grants – standard and wheelchair accessible minibuses for eligible organisations that provide transport support on a daily basis

Any organisation wishing to apply for a grant, must have been in existence for a minimum of two years and able to produce audited accounts.

Local branches of national charities, which are based within the remit area, or programmes delivered locally by organisations working on a national basis, are not usually supported.

There are no deadlines or funding limits and trustee meetings are held regularly throughout the year. Organisations should be aware that applications are considered in chronological order and it can take up to six months for the process to be completed.

Applying for funding and completing application forms can be time consuming, so a quick phone call can save everyone a lot of time. Therefore, all organisations interested in applying are asked to call the Foundation on 01829 782808 to discuss their proposal.
