Caring Connections suicide bereavement team have recently become accredited to deliver the globally recognised Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) course. At present there are only approximately 150 individuals across the UK accredited to deliver this training. Two of these are within Caring Connections.
The course runs for two consecutive days, in which individuals are trained in the skills to intervene when encountering a suicidal individual. The course is intense and includes a number of role plays, aimed at developing key skills and competences to move individuals into becoming accredited ASIST practitioners.
Upon completion of the course, a business receives the suicide aware kite mark.
There are a number of course dates running throughout 2020. These include Liverpool – Jan 2020, Wirral – Feb 2020 and Knowsley – March 2020. The course can also be delivered in-house, where there are 10+ candidates.
ASIST course costs: £165.00 per person.
Group discounts can be offered. All monies generated by the course go to supporting individuals bereaved by suicide across the Liverpool City Region.
