Summer Garden Party – Support Needed

Sláinte Le Chéile – Health Together is a joint partnership between Irish Community Care and Liverpool Irish Centre to support people in making positive lifestyle changes.

Sunday 30 July 2017 will see the official opening of the Sláinte Le Chéile community garden and the annual summer fundraiser for Irish Community Care. The garden is for all communities to enjoy. People can use the green space as a sanctuary – a safe place to relax and de-stress, escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.  The Irish Community Care fundraiser is an ideal opportunity to showcase the hard work of the amazing volunteers at the garden and raise awareness of the Sláinte Le Chéile project.

The fundraiser for Irish Community Care will support ten older Irish people to take a trip home to Ireland. Many are in failing health and have not reconnected with family or their homeland in years. Reconnecting with home provides a great boost for the older people and they come back refreshed, energised and ready to face the winter.

The partnership is looking for sponsors, donations, tickets sales and volunteers. You can also just arrive on the day and buy a ticket. There will be Irish music, raffles, dancing and afternoon tea.

If you can support this event and the elder Irish community in Liverpool, contact Clodagh Dunne on 0151 237 3987 or 07710 854 973, or email clodagh.healthtogether@iccm.org.uk.
