Support Through Court is looking for Service Volunteers

Support Through Court is looking for Service Volunteers to provide practical and emotional support to litigants in person (i.e. people representing themselves) in the Liverpool Family and Civil Court.

Support Through Court is an award-winning charity with nearly 500 dedicated volunteers, they operate from 17 courts across England and Wales, as well as running a National Helpline. Despite the growing need for their work, they remain the only organisation providing this service. Their incredible service is only possible because of the time, dedication and varied experience of life that volunteers utilise when helping their clients.

Volunteers support clients by:

  • helping to fill in court forms and organise court papers
  • helping clients plan what they want to say in court
  • going into court hearings with them.

Benefits of volunteering

  • reimbursement of travel expenses
  • experience of the court system
  • a feeling of satisfaction from helping people in difficult situations.

Who can volunteer?

  • applicants will need to be over 18
