Tesco Community Grants is open for applications

Tesco Community Grants, a scheme which helps to fund thousands of local projects across the country, is open for applications from charities and community organisations to bid up to £1500. Since 2016, the scheme has supported over 36000 community groups with more than £85 million in grants.

They are currently looking for applications from charities and community groups who deliver projects that help tackle food insecurity in their communities. This might include, for example, breakfast clubs, holiday clubs and food banks.

As Tesco Community Grants is a rolling programme, where community groups or charities can apply for funding all year round, voting for projects will happen continuously in Tesco stores. Three projects from each local area will be shortlisted to go to the public vote every three months. If your project gets the most votes across all stores in your region, you will win the grant amount you requested from them up to a maximum of £1500.

Applicants will generally know the outcome of their application between 12-18 months of applying. However, if your application is eligible, but not funded at the first attempt, it may be reconsidered at a subsequent shortlisting.
