The Brain Charity – Employer Relationship Officer

Salary: £26,000

Contract: Fixed Term until at least September 2023

Base: The Brain Charity, Norton Street, Liverpool, L3 8LR

Hours: 37.5 per week

The Brain Charity offers emotional support, practical help and social activities to anyone with a neurological condition and to their family, friends and carers. There are hundreds of different neurological conditions including stroke, brain tumour, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and many rarer conditions. We are there for every single one of them. The Brain Charity has recently been successful in winning funding for several new areas of work including two new major employment projects. Our Directions & New Horizons projects, funded by the European Social Fund, are designed to support adults with multiple and complex barriers to work to enter the labour market. We recognise that the pandemic has hit our service users hard, and that many of those we are here to support now face unemployment, financial difficulties and mental health issues. Because of these reasons, we are expanding our front-line team.

Role Summary

One of the key barriers our client group faces when it comes to finding employment is discrimination. Getting a foot in the door can be the very first hurdle.

Your job will be to cultivate relationships with local employers to raise awareness of the talent and skills of our service users.

By skilfully brokering introductions between potential applicants and major Liverpool City Region employers, you will play a vital role in supporting our service users to find work.

We are seeking an individual with good business sense and great communication skills, as well as emotional intelligence and empathy towards the needs of our service users. If you are passionate and experience in building business relationships with a wide variety of partners, we would love to hear from you.

We are an award-winning charity and have recently received The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest accolade given by the Crown to Third Sector organisations.

If you are passionate about our cause and would like to become part of a vibrant and diverse team, we would love to hear from you.

The Brain Charity prides itself on being an open and diverse place to work and we openly encourage those from minority groups to apply.

To apply, you will need to complete the application form in the downloadable pack on The Brain Charity website.

Please do not send in your CV, as this will not be counted.

Closing date: Monday 2 August 2021 9:00am.

Interviews for successful applicants will take place during the week commencing Monday 12 August 2021.

Please e-mail jobs@thebraincharity.org.uk if you have any questions.
