Contract: Permanent

Hours: Hours: 37.5 per week

Role Summary

Offering a listening ear and giving practical information on things such as employment, benefits and housing is a key part of The Brain Charity’s work.

As one of our Information and Advice Officers, you will be at the front line of this service, delivering support directly to those who need it.

We’re looking for an individual with excellent communication and assessment skills to work with in and out-patients at The Walton Centre neurological hospital and other relevant health settings in the Liverpool area.

About The Brain Charity

The Brain Charity offers emotional support, practical help and social activities to anyone with a neurological condition and to their family, friends and carers.

There are hundreds of different neurological conditions including stroke, brain tumour, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and many rarer conditions. We are there for every single one of them.

The Brain Charity has recently been successful in winning funding for several new areas of work including two new major employment projects. Our Directions & New Horizons projects, funded by the European Social Fund, are designed to support adults with multiple and complex barriers to work to enter the labour market.

We recognise that the pandemic has hit our service users hard, and that many of those we are here to support now face unemployment, financial difficulties and mental health issues.

Because of these reasons, we are expanding our front-line team.

Application information

We are an award-winning charity and have recently received The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest accolade given by the Crown to Third Sector organisations.

If you are passionate about our cause and would like to become part of a vibrant and diverse team, we would love to hear from you.

For all roles, you will need to complete an application form. Please do not send in your C.V. or apply via the Guardian Jobs portal direct, as this will not be counted.

The Brain Charity prides itself on being an open and diverse place to work and we openly encourage those from minority groups to apply.

Closing date for all job roles: Wed 31 March 5pm. Interviews for successful applicants will take place during the week commencing the 12 April.

Please ring 0151 298 2999 or e-mail jobs@thebraincharity.org.uk to request your application pack.
