Welfare Benefits & Employment Law Officer
Salary: £22,054.50 (Under Review) (+10% Pension after successful completion of probationary period)
Contract: Permanent
Base: The Brain Charity, Liverpool. L3 8LR
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
Role Summary
The legislation and regulation that surrounds the welfare benefits and employment system can often be highly technical and difficult for many individuals to navigate. If you are someone who lives with a neurological condition, it can be impossible to seek out the information you need and use it to protect your rights or apply for the support you’re entitled to.
Our Welfare Benefits and Employment Law Officer will act as a specialist within our wider employment & welfare team, supporting individuals with any complex requirements they may present by providing high quality casework.

About The Brain Charity
The Brain Charity offers emotional support, practical help and social activities to anyone with a neurological condition and to their family, friends and carers.
There are hundreds of different neurological conditions including stroke, brain tumour, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and many rarer conditions. We are there for every single one of them.
The Brain Charity has recently been successful in winning funding for several new areas of work including two new major employment projects. Our Directions & New Horizons projects, funded by the European Social Fund, are designed to support adults with multiple and complex barriers to work to enter the labour market.
We recognise that the pandemic has hit our service users hard, and that many of those we are here to support now face unemployment, financial difficulties and mental health issues.
Because of these reasons, we are expanding our front-line team.
