The Insight Series, free training sessions from LCVS, now available

LCVS has launched a new series of free training workshops. The two hour Insight events are designed to provide Liverpool voluntary organisations with expert insights into a range of really useful topics, at absolutely no cost.

The first event in the series, Insights on: Voluntary Sector Business Planning, will take place on Wednesday 27th November 2019, led by Christina Dempsey, development officer at LCVS. This will be followed by one free workshop per month until February 2020.

“Every organisation, regardless of size and sector, could benefit from business planning,” said Christina, “A business plan can be a road map to success that makes every step of the journey easier to navigate, orchestrate and achieve. Crucially, it can also help you to prove the viability of your activities to funders. This workshop will allow organisations to begin the business planning process confidently, with our support, guidance and tools.”

Four Insight sessions will run between November 2019 and February 2020. Registration is now open for:

  • Insights on: Voluntary Sector Business Planning, 27 November 2019
  • Insights on: Registering a Charity, 10 December 2019
  • Insights on: Proving the Need for What You Do, 14 January 2020
  • Insights on: Developing a Project Outline, 11 February 2020

Commenting on the introduction of Insight events, Richard Davies, Capacity Building Team leader, said, “Our team has a wealth of expertise to share. Individually and together, we have spent years dedicated to serving the charitable sector and we are always looking for new ways to share what we have learned in a way that helps organisations increase their capacity to do what they do.

“These Insight events are short enough that they don’t take too much time out of a working day but long enough to provide people with tools and information that can make a difference right away. Plus, of course, they are a great opportunity to get to know us and they won’t cost you a thing. Organisations can book onto as many sessions as they feel are relevant to them and get in touch to let us know if there are other areas they would like us to cover in the future.”
