Location: The Joseph Lappin Centre.
The Joseph Lappin Centre is a community hub based in Old Swan, providing holistic services to their local community and surrounding neighbourhoods. JLC aims to provide opportunities for residents of all ages to reach their full potential and fulfil their ambitions. They are home to numerous organisations including Deaf Active, Out of this World Kids Club, Merseyside Expanding Horizons and Duke of Lancaster Army Cadets. They deliver employability programmes, health and fitness, dementia services and a weekly social supermarket/food pantry.
Job Description
To lead a programme to strengthen activities and services available in and around the cafe. To work with other agencies and individuals and maximise the quality of lives and the communities, using the venue to train and encourage those looking for a career within the hospitality sector.
To identify and develop a strategy to fully utilise the kitchen facilities. To improve access to healthy eating and promote ‘cooking from scratch’. To further develop their food pantry/social supermarket.
Introduce new activities and events bringing the community together whilst supporting existing programmes currently being delivered.
