The Reader is a national charity bringing about a Reading Revolution so that everyone can experience and enjoy great literature, which they believe is a tool for helping humans survive and live well. By reading with school groups, families, adults, looked after children, older people in care homes, adults with physical and/or mental health conditions, people coping with or recovering from addiction and individuals in the criminal justice system, their work is helping to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and build stronger communities.
This role calls for an enthusiastic, motivated and responsible person who shares their values. They do not expect you to have all of the required knowledge and skills to start with, but they do expect that you will be willing to learn, to make the most of this exciting opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of IT support functions and technologies and to develop new skills within the post.
The IT Systems Assistant will support the day-to-day setup and maintenance of their IT systems and devices. You will support the IT requirements of staff and other stakeholders, including their commercial and events functions onsite, and will help your colleagues get the most out of the IT systems and services that they provide. Alongside the wider team, you will be on hand to resolve and restore services as quickly as possible when issues arise. All of this must be done in a secure and controlled way.
