About the role:
With shared reading at the heart of all that we do, we believe that books offer children a way to understand the world in which they live and the worlds inside themselves. Our Super Reading Heroes project builds on The Reader’s existing work in Liverpool with children in care, on the edge of care or in other difficult situations, creating the habit of reading for pleasure where ‘reading is not for me’. We are pleased to be planning an exciting programme of summer activities for our Reading Heroes and are now looking for dynamic, energetic and resilient Summer Storyhunters to bring our scheduled activities and workshops to life! The key ingredients here are great books, kind, dedicated and well-trained staff and volunteers and our amazing Mansion House, Storybarn and greenspace in Calderstones Park.
This role could be for you if you:

• Are incredibly outgoing and confident working with children
• Are compassionate, creative and can keep a cool head, un-phased by the unexpected!
