Valley Community Theatre is a registered charity and arts entertainment venue based in Netherley, Liverpool. Since 1994, when it was first established, it has delivered a variety of services and facilities to the local community in the arts such as drama, music, film and more. They are currently looking to expand on what they have already built and transform it into a more robust, inclusive and social destination, not just for Netherley but for all of Liverpool.
The Valley Community Theatre is already a hub for local community engagement, but with their new plans, they want it to be much more than that. It will be a place of self-improvement; a place to learn and refine skills; a place to gain jobs and qualifications; a place to flourish and reach one’s full potential. Thus, it will be a place to increase the quality of life of the community from engagement in the arts.
On the Valley Community Theatre website, you can view more of the CGI images and watch a video of what the future of Valley Community Theatre could look like. They have plans to refurbish and enhance the building by adding a café/restaurant, an outdoor performance space, community rooms and more. You can view the full plans here.
It will not just be a theatre, but something more so that individuals from a multitude of different walks of life can come together and enjoy what it has to offer. It will be a place to share ideas and enjoy culture all the while boosting the economy and creating new jobs for Liverpool.
Like what you hear? Here’s how you can help the Valley Community Theatre achieve its vision.
There are two five-minute surveys: one for individuals in the community and one for organisations.
The survey for individuals is for Valley Community Theatre to get feedback on their plans from members of the community and how they might like to get involved. After all, it is a place for the community so of course, they should have a say.
You can access the individual survey here.
The survey for organisations is for organisations that either has service users they already support or that could be supported by them. They want to hear about your service users and how they can improve their lives. They are also looking for like-minded organisations with who they can collaborate and work together with to develop better services for the community.
You can access the organisation survey here.
The deadline for both surveys is at 5 pm on Friday 17 September 2021.
