The Whitechapel Centre – Housing Support & Resettlement Worker / Older Persons’ Housing Advice Worker

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: National Joint Council (NJC) SCP 11 – 22 (£21,748 – £27,041).
Location: Liverpool.

The Whitechapel Centre’s mission is to prevent and resolve homelessness, social exclusion and housing poverty by providing practical, realistic and tailored support. This is so that each person can find a route out of homelessness, maintain a home and achieve their individual potential.

They are currently inviting applications for a new vacancy in their Housing Support and Resettlement Service/Older Persons’ Housing Advice Service.

The post-holder will be part of a team providing person-centred support to people who are at risk of homelessness or in a housing crisis. Part of the role will involve addressing some of the specific barriers and disadvantages experienced by older people who are at risk of homelessness. Clients may have additional support needs such as substance misuse problems, mental health issues, or financial difficulties. The post-holder will provide floating support to a caseload of clients and also provide housing advice on a drop-in basis.

With at least two years of experience in delivering effective services to vulnerable people, you will have a comprehensive understanding of housing and homelessness legislation, first-class assessment and support planning skills and the ability to address and resolve immediate, ongoing and longer-term needs.
