Salary range: £24,799 – £26,317 (Pay award pending)
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

The Whitechapel Centre’s mission is to prevent and resolve homelessness, social exclusion and housing poverty by providing practical, realistic, tailored support so that each person can find a route out of homelessness, maintain a home and achieve their individual potential.

In partnership with St Helens Council we are looking to recruit a Rough Sleeper Navigator who will work within St Helens to co-ordinate and manage access to and move on from the Borough’s emergency rough sleeper services. This will provide rough sleepers who have complex needs with the support that they need to move on from the streets and secure appropriate accommodation.

A skilled support worker with the confidence to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will have an up-to-date knowledge of housing / homelessness legislation and local systems/services, welfare rights and relevant civil and criminal legislation. You will also have experience of developing personalised support plans and providing advice and support to clients with complex needs who may have a wide range of associated issues such as substance misuse, offending and poor mental health in order to break down system barriers and ensure clients are able to take up key support services.

Highly organised and with first class IT skills you will demonstrate an ability to plan and organise your work, including a high level of contact with clients on a day to day basis, ensuring all target outcomes are achieved.

The successful applicant will be seconded to St Helens Council and will be expected to have some flexibility to work at weekends and during the early mornings and late evenings by arrangement. Funding is for one year in the first instance.
