Together in Verse | A Liverpool & Sefton Community Poetry Competition

Deadline: 14 February 2025.

Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton’s intention behind holding this competition is to engage people across all ages in our community in connecting to chapters of their lives and sharing their stories, and experiencing the sense of reward and myriad benefits of channelling the creativity within you into verse. The category for school children aims to connect younger people with older people in their writing about someone older who is special to them.

  • Open category
  • Older people residing in Liverpool and Sefton (age 50+)
  • School-aged children (4-19) writing about or with an older person in their life category.

BBC Radio Merseyside will invite category winners to read out their poem live on the radio (or be read on their behalf). Additional Support Sponsors so far include – Cineworld Cinemas; Age Concern’s Community Champion at Tesco; Crosby Plaza Community Cinema plus Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse.
