Together Liverpool – Executive Director

Contract: Fixed term for 3 years.
Term: Full-Time.
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000.
Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week. There is a need for flexibility with working hours which could cover days, evenings and weekends.
Reporting to: Chair and Board of Trustees.
Location: Base office St James House, Liverpool, L1 7BY (free on-site parking).

The purpose of Together Liverpool is to enhance the capacity of the Church of England’s mission and neighbourliness in the poorest communities in the Diocese of Liverpool area, engaging every Church in addressing poverty. They are doing this by creating a Network of Kindness that listens to those at the margins, connects social action and people in communities, equips people and projects to enhance their current practice and influences positive cultural and system changes that will work towards addressing the root causes of poverty and disadvantage. They do this through value led social engagement using asset-based community development models, agile working practices and by encouraging sustainable social leadership.

They are looking for an experienced Executive Director to oversee all operations, functions and activities. You will be the face of the organisation, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high-quality value-led vision.

An excellent Executive Director is an influential manager with the ability to lead and motivate. They have great communication skills and take a holistic and agile approach to managing the organisation’s operations.

Trustees have articulated their values and purpose – they now need a collaborative leader who can manage and lead the charity to take the next step toward the realisation of its mission to establish the Network of Kindness across the geographical area of the Diocese of Liverpool.

The Together Liverpool Executive Director will lead a small lead of highly skilled social justice practitioners under the oversight of a group of experienced Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector trustees. You will need to be comfortable speaking to volunteers, community and faith leaders as well as having a heart for social justice. They are a charity that is at the heart of a network of people, charities and churches who want to see real social change happen. You will need to have experience working at a strategic level and be able to speak truth to power.
