The Springboard Charity helps people gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to enter the hospitality workforce.

Springboard’s online training and support – the Digital Hospitality Academy – is now available for free to unemployed people across the UK and Ireland.

If you are currently not working or are unable to work due to Covid-19 and you would like to keep busy and to prepare for when social distancing is relaxed, Springboard is here for you. The charity is offering tailored support to help you find a job.

What’s on offer:

• 1-week or 3-week courses, depending on your needs
• Your own member of Springboard’s specialist employability team for 121 careers advice, support, and mentoring
• A connected team environment: live group training and webinars
• Upskill and re-train with over 40 online modules, which are accessible for you to complete 24/7
• Supported job search and introductions to employers recruiting now

Example courses

1 week – equivalent of 4 hours per day:

• 121 mentoring and support from a Springboard employability specialist
• Online modules, with certificates for each:
  – Customer Service
  – Food Safety Level 2
  – DrinkIQ
  – Health & Safety Level 2
  – Once you complete your course, an 18-month licence to then access to all 40+ modules,
• Live group training:
  – Confidence & Assertiveness
  – CV Development
  – Interview Skills
  – Transferrable Skills
  – Guest Speakers
• Interview practice with employers

3 weeks – equivalent of 3 hours per day

• 121 mentoring and support from a Springboard employability specialist
• Online modules, with certificates for each:
  – Customer Service
  – Food Safety Level 2
  – Health & Safety Level 2
  – Licensing
  – Cocktails
  – Specialist knowledge modules for the following roles: The Waiter, The Receptionist, The Bartender, The Housekeeper
  – Wine
  – Coffee
  – Cask Ale
  – Once you complete your course, an 18-month licence to then access to all 40+ modules
• Group training:
  – Confidence & Assertiveness
  – CV Development
  – Interview Skills
  – Transferable Skills
  – Guest Speakers
• Interview practice with employers
