LCVS Training: Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees & Board Members
Not for profit organisations come in all shapes and sizes, including companies, trusts and associations. One thing that unites them is that they are run by a governing body that is ultimately responsible for the organisation.
It is vital for members of the governing body (either trustees, directors or both) to be aware of their roles and responsibilities so they can do their job properly and to make sure their organisation is well run.
Having a strong board not only makes your organisation more effective, but it can also make your organisation more attractive when applying for funding.
This training will enable you to:
- Understand the roles, responsibilities, and obligations of being a Trustee/Director
- Fulfil those duties by setting in place effective systems
- Know the risks involved in running an organisation and how to manage those risks
This course is ideal for current and potential trustees/directors, as well staff/volunteers running or considering running a charity/charitable company.
