Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) Training

Training Date: 28 January 2020

Tuesday 28 January 2010: 10:00 – 13:00, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Number One Mann Island, Liverpool L3 1BP

This course is free-of-charge.

Target Audience: Staff or volunteers who may be working in public spaces or who require information on the current security threat.

ACT is the nationally recognised Counter Terrorism Awareness training, produced by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO)

This training has been developed in partnership with Counter Terrorism Policing North West and delivered by Regional Counter Terrorism Awareness Advisors (CTSAs)

Do not be alarmed, this course is part of routine security training offered to CA staff and partner organisations. There is no indication of a specific or increased threat to LCRCA or our partner organisations. However it should be remembered that the current national threat level within the UK is Substantial (Dec 2019).

Aim: Action Counters Terrorism, primary mission is to engage, encourage and enable members of the community to work in partnership with the police to deter, detect and counter terrorist activity.

Course Objectives:

This course will cover:

• Introduction to Counter Terrorism
• The Current Threat
• Identifying and Responding to Suspicious Behaviour
• Identifying and Dealing with Bombs and Suspicious Items
• Responding to a Firearms or Weapons Attack
