Social Prescribing is a new way of working in health care that connects patients with non-medical services in the community, e.g. to a mindfulness course, an environmental project, to a befriending scheme or to a support group. It gives people the opportunity to improve their well being through access to support services that promote learning, socialising and confidence-building.

This session will support health professionals to:

• Understand the benefits of social prescribing
• The different types of social prescribing
• How to social prescribe
• How it can benefit your service
• The role of the link connector

This session is delivered through Advice Skills Academy, in conjunction with Third Sector Leadership group.

The session is for health and social care professionals and eligibility criteria applies. To book, you must provide evidence of employment and proof of ID evidencing your eligibility to work in the UK. Anyone interested in finding out more or booking a place should contact 0151 706 8111 or hello@thewo.org.uk.
