An Introduction to Welfare Benefits

Training Date: 10 October 2022

Hosted by Ruth Knox with the Continuing Education Department of Liverpool University | 8-Week Course | Starting on Monday 10 October 2022 | Online and In-Person

The course will start with an overview of the different categories of benefit – means-tested, contribution-based, and non-means tested.

Further sessions will look at each benefit in more detail and will cover Universal Credit, legacy benefits, disability and sickness benefits, support for housing costs, and the position of EEA citizens and other migrants.

The course will be taught remotely (although they are hoping to make the first session face-to-face so that students are able to meet each other).

It is suitable for volunteers, trainees and anyone working in the advice sector who wants to gain more knowledge of the benefits system.
