Chairing Skills
Taking on the role of Chairperson can be a daunting task. As Chairperson it is your responsibility to provide leadership to the organisation, ensure board meetings run effectively, ensure the organisation is managed effectively, provide support to senior staff, and act as a figurehead for the organisation. It requires impartiality, objectivity, the ability to facilitate change, and to deal with conflict.
This session will provide you with the knowledge and tools to take on this exciting role with confidence, and will look at:
• The roles and responsibilities of a Chairperson
• Effective planning, chairing, and facilitating of meetings and ensuring decisions are implemented
• Dealing with conflict and providing leadership
This course is for those who are considering taking on or are new to the role of Chairperson, or for those who wish to update their skills.
