Hosted by Collective Encounters | Commitment of around 8 hours per week | Starting September 2021 for 1 year | Online & in-person
Are you over 25 and based in Merseyside? Are you interested in a career in community theatre? Are you not able to get on a formal drama or arts course? Then you should join the Radical Makers Participatory Theatre Training programme. It is a year-long, part-time and free emerging artist training course.
Their course involves a blend of learning in your own time, in-person and online, to suit each individual participant. Full support to get online is included in the course, including the necessary technology and internet access for those who don’t already have it. All students receive one to one mentoring and career guidance and work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
The course is COVID secure, and they continually monitor the pandemic to make sure none of their participants is put at risk.
There is no formal application process, but the course is designed for people who:
- Have been unable to access arts education, or
- Have experienced barriers to progressing in a career in the arts, or
- May not work in the arts but are interested in using participatory theatre in another context, such as homelessness, with looked after children, with people in recovery, with survivors of abuse or trauma.
Previous participants have gone on to form their own theatre companies, be activists in their own communities, make films, find work, become freelance artists, and have their writing performed.
Enrolment is now open.
