Families for Peace is being delivered in a number of areas of the borough by the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation, with support from Liverpool council, as part of the government’s Building a Stronger Britain Together programme. The work includes Small Steps for Peace sessions in some local primary schools, conflict awareness sessions for parents and other family members, and ‘Open Awards’ accredited courses on conflict resolution for community members.
As part of Families for Peace, Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation is running training and skill-sharing days for workers with local agencies, members of voluntary organisations, and community representatives.
The day will cover:
- How conflicts and disputes arise and develop
- The responsibilities and legal duties which come with our role or profession
- What ‘extremism’ is – and how we can take effective action in response
- Skills to open up and manage ‘difficult conversations’
