Get Started with Sony Games Design – for ages 16-25

Training Date: 19 February 2021

Hosted by Prince’s Trust Liverpool | starts 19 of February 2021 | online

The principal aim of this programme is to provide fun, practical and engaging activities to enhance young people’s interest in games and the techniques used to create them.

It aims to communicate the creative possibilities, future evolution and rewards that the games industry can provide, as well as giving young people real experience of each of the key roles in a game development team.

On completion of this programme, young people will have a better understanding of the potential of the games sector as a creative and viable career prospect.

Ongoing support from NextGen Skills Academy will provide additional advice and support about further education and industry apprenticeships opportunities.

In-keeping with the aspirations of the ‘Get Started ’initiative this programme will go beyond providing the young people with an introduction to the games sector. It is a significant aspiration that the group and individual elements of this week will stretch and develop the young people by encouraging them to work together and communicate and that it will build confidence. It will help them to develop their personal and social skills, and provide them with a real sense of achievement and success.

We can build on this foundation with them to explore further education, employment, or training opportunities within this exciting sector.

Session dates:

19, 23,24,25 February plus 2, 3, 4 March, with a celebration event 5 March.
