All organisations should periodically check in to assess their governance arrangements.
But what does a governance review actually mean?
It is a process that allows an organisation to make sure they have systems in place to meet compliance requirements and to help plan for improvement, but it is also a way of promoting a positive culture that helps make sure your organisation is achieving what it set out to do.
A good governance review covers everything from how your trustees/directors carry out their business and manage your paperwork, right through to how you measure the impact of your work and how/when you report to funders and government regulators.
Increasingly, funders are also taking an interest in the governance arrangements of those they support, so getting your governance in order will make your organisation a safer pair of hands when they make funding decisions.
This course will:
- Introduce you to different types of governance review
- Help you plan a proper review process
- Take you step by step through a typical governance review process; including what to ask yourself and what to look out for.
At the end of this session, you will have the tools you need to carry out your own governance review and take the steps you need to keep your organisation both effective and fundable.
