Are you over 19 years of age, living in Merseyside, with UK residency and currently unwaged?
Would you like to retrain or qualify to be able to lead groups of walkers in the countryside?
If so, this could be the course for you.
You will learn about:
- walking equipment and how to look after it
- developing your navigation skills
- planning walking routes
- leadership skills
- supervising groups
- safety and risk assessment
This funded course is 7 days of indoors and outdoors activities, plus some direct study time and at least 4 hours of volunteering, spread out over several months so that you can use your skills and practice with support.
Four hours of mental health first aid awareness training are included, to support your work. You will also be signposted to other courses useful for work in the health and wellbeing sector. Support to obtain DBS clearance, for the volunteering aspect of this course, can be provided and equipment can be loaned if needed.
